Pataille farms just 0.3 hectares of ancient vines in the lieu-dit of Champ Forey in Marsannay-la-Côte. Planted between 1932 and 1961, the Aligoté Doré vines sit at 250 metres elevation and face east on gravelly limestone soils. Champ Forey ferments chiefly in used casks (just 15% new), then ages for one year before bottling.
