Disgorged April 2023. This wine was originally a blanc de blancs from two plots in Avize, Le Mont de Cramant and Les Chantereines, but it now includes fruit from all six villages: Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Aÿ, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Ambonnay. The varietal blend is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. It matured in bottle, on lees, for 10 years before disgorgement.
“The 2012 Extra-Brut Millésime is an airy, relatively open-knit Champagne from Selosse. Crushed flowers, tangerine peel, mint, spice, lemon confit and marzipan lend notable aromatic presence. This is an especially lifted, floral edition of the Millésime. My impression is that the 2012 is pretty shy at this stage. I imagine it will develop into a little more than is on display today.” 94 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
