Arnoux-Lachaux Chambolle-Musigny 2021

This comes from five domaine-owned parcels, all at the top of Chambolle’s slopes near the limestone cliffs. The terroirs are Clos des Danguerrins, Les Creux Baissants, Les Fouchères and Derrière le Four. The vines cover 1.62 hectares, with an average age of 40 years. The parcels mostly face north with rocky soils rich in limestone. Altitude and the cool aspect combine with the rocky soil to produce a wildly perfumed wine with intense mineral energy across the palate. Gorgeous as always, this is loaded with cola and macerated griotte cherry on the nose and palate. There is always a darker core here in the context of the domaine, but the elegance and length we associate with the place is there for all to enjoy.
