Only 110 dozen bottles were produced of this world-class single vineyard Grenache. The grapes were planted in 1962 by Albert and Ian Kalleske and yields are kept low—key to high-quality Grenache. Laughing Jack always mature this wine exclusively in older French puncheons to preserve the texture and minerality in the wine.
The 2018 is another win for Shawn and his family. A medium deep and bright cherry red, this has classic raspberry fruit shot through with some fennel and sage, while the palate is deftly concentrated with superb texture and mouthfeel whilst remaining light on its feet at the same time. Deceptively delicious now, there is more than enough fruit and velvety persistent tannins to ensure a long life ahead.
