The source for the OC Semillon, the Oakey Creek Vineyard in Pokolbin, was planted in 1976 on a sandy/loam strip along Oakey Creek Road. After many years making ripe and generous Semillon from this site, Andrew Thomas realised this patch of dirt was far more suited to making a more classic Hunter Valley Semillon style. He has not looked back. The OC is a very low-yielding site (about three tonnes per acre) and 2022 saw output of just over four tonnes in total from the allotted rows.
