Biodynamic blanc. Hélène Thibon's small-batch white comes from a blend of low-cropped, hand-harvested Roussanne, Viognier and Clairette. This year there’s more Roussanne than usual (barrel-fermented and zero malo). The Viognier was raised entirely in cement and stainless steel vats, while the Clairette was fermented in Stockinger demi-muid. White Rhône is going through a renaissance at the moment, with the best wines offering more energy, purity and seduction than ever before. And Mas de Libian's white is no exception. There is little doubt that Hélène's friendships with top growers in Burgundy, and further north, continue to positively influence the invigorating energy of this racy, pulpy, orchard-fruited, and lemon curd-noted white Rhône. Simply delicious!
