Di Majo Norante Apianae Moscato 2015 (500ml)

Made using the classic passito method of drying the fruit on the vine prior to fermentation, this is a drop-dead gorgeous style of Moscato. A style of wine that has been celebrated throughout history, Apianae was first mentioned by the Romans, who named it after the bees that were attracted to the Moscato Reale grapes (api is Latin for bees). Much later it apparently became a favourite of many Popes. Today, this unique wine style wine has its own DOC, Apianae Moscato Reale del Molise.

Alessio Di Majo crafts this wine from vines rooted in the low-lying sandy clays of the Camarda district. Grapes were left to dry on the vine before being hand-harvested and cold macerated to bring out the bouquet, prior to being pressed to tanks for fermentation. The wine was raised in stainless steel for 12 months.
