From Alberto’s more recently purchased Anime vineyard, this is the finer and more structured Nebbiolo in the range. The 80-year-old vines delve deep into the intensely sandy soil, so this vineyard doesn’t suffer extreme stress even in drought years. The amphitheatre shape of the site and its south-westerly exposure capture the sun into the evening. It really comes into its own in a longer, mild and dry vintage like 2020. The fruit was picked by hand and fermented in tank over 25 days. Maturation occurred in Slavonian oak for 14 months, followed by two years in bottle before release.
