Natural cork. This wine hails from 0.15 hectares of vines, planted in 1965 and located mid-slope on shallow, rocky soil with high limestone content. At its finest (which comes down to the producer and location within the AOC) Clos de la Roche can produce some of the Côte d’Or’s most profound reds. This wine is typical of the finest wines of the appellation, offering a deep, layered and dark-fruited personality with the exotic spice and earthiness of Morey’s northern slopes. As you would expect, there is considerably more structural muscle and minerality than in the Clos Saint-Denis. The 2021 was entirely destemmed.
