Barthod’s village is a blend of 12 parcels across just 1.5 hectares, including old vines in Aux Croix and Les Herbues. The domaine also declassifies its younger vines in 1er Cru Les Chatelots (still 40 years old) into this cuvée. It sees 15% new oak, and the barrel selection includes Allier, Tronçais and a little Vosges from François Frères and Rémond. This is typically one of Chambolle’s finest village wines, and both years deliver 1er Cru quality.
