This is another site that shares its name with a vineyard elsewhere—in this case, Corton’s Bressandes Grand Cru. Both sites are named after the historic landholder of these vineyards, a Canon of Beaune from the 13th century, Jean Bressand. Beaune Bressandes isn’t too far from Corton either, high on the slopes above Beaune. Germain has mature vines planted between 1960 and 1965 in a parcel high on the slope, right next to David Croix’s vines. It’s a very classy, pure example of Beaune.
