There’s just a single barrel of Lamarche’s first Gevrey-Chambertin. Nicole has been working with the same grower for three vintages and is delighted with the quality. Now 80 years old, the vineyard was planted by the grower’s grandfather and lies metres from Mazoyères -Chambertin, on the left as you enter the village from Morey-Saint-Denis. The lieu-dit is called Aus Echézeaux, so it's a home away from home for Nicole! The 2021 was cropped at very low yields, half the legal maximum. Again, Lamarche vinified this wine in amphora and old oak.
