Natural cork. One of our smallest allocations. This is not a new vineyard for Leroux, although it is just our second allocation. At 2.73 hectares, Griottes is the smallest of the Gevrey Grand Crus, and Leroux’s vines sit in the upper section to the south of the Grand Cru. Fermented with 50% whole bunches, just one 450-litre barrel was produced this year.

Reviews

“This has another fragrant and convincing bouquet like the Charmes-Chambertin. It's focused and linear, with ample, vivacious, red fruit laced with rose petals and peonies. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, a taut line of acidity and a persistent, open finish with commendable energy and tension.”
93-95 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
“Utterly lovely aromatics of rose hips, blueberries and warm spice exude from the glass. The palate structure is beautifully aligned with the clean, moderately lean fruit. The tannins are rather voluptuous and the acidity is crisp and integrated. There is excellent composure and depth here.”
96 points, Christy Canterbury MW, Tim Atkin Burgundy Report 2021
