Windows Estate’s Semillon grows on its organically managed 1996-planted Home Block, a free-draining site with a north-south orientation on an ironstone/laterite ridge. It's just the second 100% Semillon winemaker Chris Davies has produced in more than a decade. The fruit was harvested by hand in pristine conditions at first light, and fermentation occurred naturally. Maturation was in both oak and clay vessels. The finished wine mirrors the high mineral content of the soil, with a dewy slate element evident on the nose, underpinned by varietal grassy tones and citrus. Bright citrus abounds on the palate, alongside white flowers and oyster-shell minerality. A fine acid backbone gives insight into the cellaring potential of this wine.“A mid-straw gold with wafts of sun-bleached hay, florals and glacé lime. Fresh and lively with no shortage of acidity, but also some texture.” 90 points, Jane Faulkner, The Wine Companion
