Red capsule. First introduced in 2015, this single-terroir Hermitage rouge comes from Faurie’s purest granite soils within Les Bessards. The plot lies close to the eastern border of Les Greffieux and was planted between the 1940s and 1960s (see the note above for more on the vineyard). In 2020, Faurie made two 600-litre demi muids (first used in 2012). Our wine was hand-bottled from one of these casks.

“The nose has smoky, gunflint, blue fruit airs, an underlay of sweet Morello cherry, a hint of rose-floral, is very typical of Bessards. The palate is charming, notably restrained, has good flow, feel, spark. It’s a “kind” Bessards, straightforward, rather open, has a thread of mineral-spine, isn’t obvious. Its clear juice appeals, and the orchestration of its rocky-iron elements has been gently achieved, with a discreet build in depth towards the finish. From 2026. 2048-50.”
