Weil is widely considered one of the true greats of the sweeter Prädikat styles. One of the keys to this estate’s success with these wines is that the mountainous, rocky setting of the Kiedricher Berg vineyards allows for a perfect balance between natural sweetness, mouth-watering freshness and pungent, intense minerality.

Robert Weil Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Beerenauslese 2022 (375ml)

Reviews

“A magnificent Rheingau BA with an enormous depth of dried apricot and dried mango character. Very compact and structured, this really needs some years of further aging to reach its youthful best form. Excellent balance, also due to the very vibrant acidity that underlies the tremendous richness.”
97 points, Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com
“The intensely golden-colored 2022 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Beerenauslese opens with a concentrated but stunningly fresh and greenish bouquet of lime and lemon zest as well as candied grapefruit. This is a concentrated but elegant and refined noble sweet wine with a generous and rich but also refined texture and saline, very fine and stimulating acidity. The grams per liter of residual sugar is counterpointed by relatively fine but even more saline acidity as well as lime-zest grip on the finish. 8.5% stated alcohol.”
96 points, Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
“The 2022 Riesling Kiedricher Gräfenberg Beerenauslese was harvested from shriveled grapes, only some of which were a􀀂ected with botrytis. This lends extra purity to these wines. The nose is vivid with slightly dried white currant and pale sultana. The palate is super fresh but also super concentrated. Candied peach, supple, de􀀁ned and pure, the 2022 becomes as intense as a crystallized peach. Peach 􀀃esh, skin, compote and candied fruit are all here. The sweetness is immense, but so is the acidity which delineates and illuminates all. The mouthfeel is viscous. This is precious, intense and lasting.”
97 points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous
“Where would the Rheingau’s tradition of high-end Riesling dessert wines be today if it weren’t for Wilhelm Weil’s modern masterpieces in the style?”
