Another one of the 1ers Crus closer to the village, Aux Beaux Bruns lies on the same latitude as Les Charmes and shares the site’s fleshy and textural personality but with a more open, earlier-drinking persona and an earthy/rocky complexity. The soils here have a lot of red clay and plenty of limestone pebbles, and it’s always the first of the Barthod sites to be harvested. Barthod has 0.73 hectares of 65-year-old vines that produce an aromatic and hedonistic Chambolle.
