“Equipo Navazos offer a range of both delicious and thought-provoking sherries. If you are embarking upon a journey into the wonderful world of sherry, then I cannot think of a better springboard than Equipo Navazos.” Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate “There's not too much to say about this exceptional curator of some of the finest wines in Andalucía that we have not already published.” Equipo Navazos—Sherry Genius, Jancis Robinson MW “Jesús Barquín and his Equipo Navazos have had a huge impact in rekindling global interest in fine sherry and making it gastronomically relevant, even hip.” Andrew Jefford, Decanter Knights of Navazos—saddle up. We could hardly be happier to offer a bevy of new releases—and more—from this Andalucía phenomenon. The first cab off the rank is the latest bottling of the Manzanilla Pasada “Capataz Cabo”, bottled from a rare solera comprising 15 precious casks. We have previously called this wine one of the most complex and flat-out delicious dry sherries in the world today, and Eduardo Ojeda’s selection just seems to get better each year—how does he do it? “It cuts like a scalpel,” exclaims Luis Gutiérrez of The Wine Advocate. Next up is the energising La Bota 113, the tenth release of La Bota de Manzanilla. A focus on freshness and a certain puckering austerity are a feature of Navazos’ more recent Manzanilla bottlings, and this outstanding value is an exemplary case in point. Then there is an incredible La Bota Amontillado “Navazos”, sourced not from Sanlúcar this time, but from the venerable Bodega of Pérez Barquero in Montilla-Moriles. Alongside the new wines, Navazos has once again given International Fine Wines access to its La Bota back catalogue. We have carefully selected and shipped a selection of these rare bottlings, including a handful of the memorable No.86 La Bota Palo Cortado, the mind-blowing La Bota 70 Manzanilla Pasada and some of the most delicious Pedro Ximénez on the face of the earth. We have listed the new editions at the top of the offer, followed by the back catalogue of La Bota wines. In the interest of brevity, we have not included Equipo’s scintillating, pure and mineral Florpower wines. Nor have we included the wines from their collaboration with boutique Cava house, Colet. The omission was made purely in the name of space; these wines are as delicious as they are unique. As a general guide, they are vibrant, enthrallingly fresh and elegant, as well as intellectually stimulating. Should curiosity get the better of you, please get in touch for more information. The Equipo Navazos story does not end with their exceptional and elite Sherries. For some time now, Navazos has turned its attention to sourcing extraordinary examples of Spanish spirits in collaboration with New York spirits guru Nicolas Palazzi. The unique range of La Bota Whiskey, Rum, Brandy and Gin stems, at least in part, from this fertile collaboration. Most are single-cask and have spent much of their lives aging in large Sherry botas in Jerez de la Frontera; these are striking, compelling and truly unique spirits. Due to the extensive words and reviews available, we have packaged the full notes for all available wines (and spirits) to view or download here. Please note, due to the rarity of these bottlings, stocks are quite limited.
